Hello again! This is my first real weekly post so it’s probably going to be wonky. I’ve been sporadically thinking about what to write for this first blog, but every time I get distracted by something else. It’s the first week back to school, so it’s been hectic trying to make sure I’m organized and ready. Apparently this is the hardest term of the program, which given that the other terms weren’t exactly easy seems… dubious…
But at least I can get off to a good start! I attended the first class today, so I’m already fulfilling my New Year’s resolution to actually attend my classes. Not the highest hurdle, to attend a single class, but I gotta self motivate. I’m taking a physics, chemistry, and electrical circuits class, so definitely stacked. These classes are just the 2nd version of last terms classes, so at least I know what I’m getting into.
Despite feeling likely I’ve been incredibly busy I really haven’t been doing much. Mostly, it’s been working on this app I’ve been developing that helps gig-service drivers (like Uber or DoorDash) make better decisions on accepting orders. It scrapes the screen and then gives better info, like dollar per hr and dollar per mile. It doesn’t feel like it in the moment but sometimes I’ll spend like 3 or 4 hours straight just working on it, when I can’t even be bothered to spend 30 minutes on homework.
Other than that, I’ve just been doing simple housekeeping chores and playing games with friends. Recently we just bought the Elden Ring DLC to play seamless co-op in. We had beaten the main game like half a year ago, but at the time we didn’t have the dlc so it didn’t work. Now we all have it, so we’ve played that a few times. The areas in the DLC are really pretty, despite the colors being kinda bland on paper. The starting area in particular is really gorgeous, its kinda like a dusky white/orange skyline with a really cool backdrop.
Unfortunately I only saw one cat this past week, and it was actually today. It is winter, so I guess its to be expected. To supplement that I added some older photos of cats that I had on my phone. If only it could be summer already…
Well that’s pretty much it for now. I have another topic I want to talk about but that’ll require a bit more time and thought. I think I actually should work on the blog throughout the week, and then just upload it on a weekly basis. That way I can still piece it out day-by-day.
